Mine Monero — Top 1 miners by profitability

Most profitable XMR miners right now, ranked by daily profit at default electricity cost.

About the asset

About Monero

Monero is the largest privacy-focused cryptocurrency, launched in April 2014 as a fork of the Bytecoin project. Unlike most chains where transactions are publicly visible, Monero hides sender, recipient, and amount on every single transaction by default — using ring signatures, stealth addresses, and confidential transactions. Privacy isn't an opt-in feature; it's the protocol.

Monero is also unusual in being deliberately CPU-mineable. Its RandomX algorithm is designed to resist ASIC specialisation, keeping the mining base diverse and accessible. Since 2022 Monero has had no fixed supply cap — block rewards drop to a permanent "tail emission" of 0.6 XMR per block, an explicit design choice to keep miner incentives sustainable forever rather than relying on transaction fees alone.

What drives the Monero price

The structural forces behind XMR's price moves — without forecasting where it goes next.

Privacy demand

Monero is the dominant privacy coin, and its price tracks demand for transactional privacy more than any other variable. Real-world drivers include surveillance backlash, wallet seizures elsewhere, and underground-economy activity — all hard to measure cleanly, which is exactly why XMR moves on signals other coins don't.

Exchange delistings

Major exchanges in regulated markets have repeatedly delisted XMR — Bittrex, Kraken UK, Binance in some regions. Each delisting compresses liquidity and usually drops the price short-term, but the asset has historically recovered as users migrate to atomic swaps and decentralised venues. Listing news cuts both ways.

Tail emission

Since 2022 Monero has issued 0.6 XMR per block forever — a deliberate design choice to keep miners paid even after most of the supply is mined. That mild perpetual inflation (~0.7%/year and falling) means XMR has no scarcity-driven price floor, but it also avoids the future fee-market risk that other PoW chains face.

Monero FAQ

What is the current price of Monero?
Monero is trading at $386.48 per XMR, with a market cap of $7.13B. Prices on this page refresh every 5 minutes.
How do I buy Monero?
You can buy Monero (XMR) on most major cryptocurrency exchanges, including Binance. Sign up, complete identity verification, deposit funds via bank transfer or card, then place a market or limit order for XMR. The "Where to Buy" section above lists exchanges with active welcome offers.
Is Monero a good investment in 2026?
Monero carries the same volatility risk as all cryptocurrencies — prices can swing sharply in either direction. Whether XMR fits your portfolio depends on your risk tolerance, time horizon, and how much you're willing to lose. This page is informational; nothing here is financial advice. Always do your own research and consider speaking to a licensed advisor.
How is the Monero price determined?
Monero's price is set by supply and demand across hundreds of exchanges worldwide. The figure shown on this page is a volume-weighted average across major trading venues. Individual exchanges may show slightly different XMR/USD rates depending on their order books.
Can I mine Monero at home?
Monero uses Proof of Work consensus, so yes — but profitability depends on hardware efficiency and your electricity cost. The "Mine Monero" section above ranks the most profitable miners right now. Home mining only makes sense at low electricity rates (typically under $0.10/kWh) with current-generation ASIC hardware.
Why can Monero prices differ between exchanges?
XMR prices can vary between exchanges because each venue has its own order book, liquidity, fees, regional demand, and available trading pairs. Large or illiquid orders can also move the executable price away from the headline market price, especially during volatile periods.
