About HodlChecker
We're a crypto information site built on one rule: nothing gets recommended that we haven't used ourselves. No price predictions, no hype, and no rankings for sale.
Who runs HodlChecker
HodlChecker is run by Damien Clothier, who has been active in crypto since 2018 — buying his first XRP that May, then farming airdrops, trading NFTs, playing crypto casinos, and investing across launchpads and GameFi. That hands-on history is the point: the reviews and guides here are written by someone who actually uses these products, not assembled from press releases.
Every article, review and guide on the site carries a named byline linking to the author's profile, including credentials and a public LinkedIn. If our name is on it, a real person stands behind it.
Our editorial standards
- We test with real money. Exchanges, wallets, miners and casinos are signed up for, deposited into, used, and withdrawn from before we rank them. Where we report a withdrawal time or a fee, it's from our own test.
- No price predictions, no hype. We don't tell you what a coin will be worth. We explain how things work and what we found, and let you decide.
- Rankings are never for sale. A company cannot pay to rank higher or to soften a review. When something is bad, we say so — and name it.
- We disclose AI assistance and keep a human accountable. See our AI Policy for exactly how we use it.
How we review
Each category is scored against a fixed set of criteria — security, fees, usability, support, and real-world performance — applied the same way to every product so comparisons are fair. The methodology is published on each hub page (look for the “How we evaluate” section) so you can see exactly how a score was reached.
How HodlChecker is funded
Some links on the site are affiliate links: if you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never changes our rankings or what we write — we recommend things because we tested them, not because they pay. Full detail is in our Affiliate Disclosure.
