About the asset

About Bitcoin

Bitcoin is the first and largest cryptocurrency by market cap, launched in January 2009 by the pseudonymous Satoshi Nakamoto. It runs on a global peer-to-peer network secured by Proof of Work mining, with a hard supply cap of 21 million BTC — a property that frames most of the investment narrative around it.

On-chain settlement happens roughly every ten minutes when miners confirm a new block. Block rewards halve every four years, with the next halving expected in April 2028. That schedule is what makes BTC's supply curve predictable in a way no fiat currency or commodity can match — and is the structural reason long-term holders refer to themselves as hodlers rather than traders.

Bitcoin FAQ

What is the current price of Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is trading at $79,164.00 per BTC, with a market cap of $1.59T. Prices on this page refresh every 5 minutes.
How do I buy Bitcoin?
You can buy Bitcoin (BTC) on most major cryptocurrency exchanges, including Binance. Sign up, complete identity verification, deposit funds via bank transfer or card, then place a market or limit order for BTC. The "Where to Buy" section above lists exchanges with active welcome offers.
Is Bitcoin a good investment in 2026?
Bitcoin carries the same volatility risk as all cryptocurrencies — prices can swing sharply in either direction. Whether BTC fits your portfolio depends on your risk tolerance, time horizon, and how much you're willing to lose. This page is informational; nothing here is financial advice. Always do your own research and consider speaking to a licensed advisor.
How is the Bitcoin price determined?
Bitcoin's price is set by supply and demand across hundreds of exchanges worldwide. The figure shown on this page is a volume-weighted average across major trading venues. Individual exchanges may show slightly different BTC/USD rates depending on their order books.
What is the maximum supply of BTC?
Bitcoin has a hard-capped maximum supply of 21M BTC. Once that ceiling is reached, no new coins will ever be created — block rewards for miners simply end and they will rely on transaction fees alone.
Can I mine Bitcoin at home?
Bitcoin uses Proof of Work consensus, so yes — but profitability depends on hardware efficiency and your electricity cost. The "Mine Bitcoin" section above ranks the most profitable miners right now. Home mining only makes sense at low electricity rates (typically under $0.10/kWh) with current-generation ASIC hardware.

Informational only. Cryptocurrency is volatile and not suitable for everyone — nothing on this page is financial advice.
